Terms and Conditions – Matchpoint Lifeline

Matchpoint Lifeline Memberships and activities are provided by – Match Point Tennis (UK) Ltd and Lifeline Fitness Ltd.

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between Matchpoint Lifeline (“Us”, “We”, “Our”) and You when You pay for a Membership with Us and/or use Our facilities. Matchpoint Lifeline facilities include, gym, tennis courts and fitness classes.  You are advised to read these Terms and rules carefully. By continuing with Your application and whenever You use Our facilities, You confirm that:

You understand and accept all of the Terms below and you will adhere to any local rules. Acceptance of Your application and any subsequent withdrawal of Membership are at Our absolute discretion.

By agreeing to these Terms, You acknowledge and agree that in entering into this agreement You are not relying on any promise, assurance, statement, representation, warranty or understanding except as expressly provided in these Terms.

Where a Term is generic this applies to all customers, however some of the Terms and Conditions will only apply to specific members, memberships or activities and may not be relevant to all.

Fitness Class

  1. Once you have completed your class, we ask you leave the facility within one hour.
  2. If you fail to attend or cancel three classes in one week, you will forfeit booking classes for the following week.
  3. Bring a personal sweat towel and your own drinking water.
  4. Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the provided cleaning materials – not your towel.
  5. There will be limited changing areas and restricted or no availability of showers, please arrive changed and shower at home if you can.
  6. Bring your own exercise matt if you can.
  7. Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
  8. You must not go from the Class to the Gym or vice versa. A separate booking must be made, and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes.
  9. Exercise responsibly maintaining social distancing during at all times.
  10. All classes where possible will be held outside.
  11. Members can book classes 2 weeks before.
  12. Non-members can book classes 1 week before.

Gym

  1. You will need to complete your session and be out of the building within one hour.

  3. Remain active and do not sit for extended rest periods.
  4. Bring a personal sweat towel and your own drinking water.
  5. Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the provided cleaning materials – not your towel.
  6. There will be limited changing areas and restricted or no availability of showers, please arrive changed and shower at home if you can.
  7. Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
  8. If you are unfamiliar with how to operate any equipment then always ask for safety advice from a member of staff.
  9. You must not go from the Gym to a or Class or vice versa. A separate booking must be made, and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes.
  10. You must train alone, you cannot undertake exercise where you would need a ‘spotter’.Exercise responsibly maintaining social distancing during at all times.
  11. Remain in the marked areas when training.
  12. Members can book 1-hour slots 2 weeks before.
  13. Non-members can book 1-hour slots 1 week before.

Tennis

  1. Pre-booked courts only with maximum of 4 people.
  2. All people playing together must arrive at the same time.
  3. All players must be registered for each booking, it is the responsibility of the member who booked the court to advise reception of all named players participating.
  4. Bookings should be made in the name of a player who will be on the court. Players may be asked to leave if the named person who made the booking is not present.
  5. Change courts responsibly, please vacate your court on time.
  6. No spectators are allowed other than when accompanying juniors.
  7. Dispose of any rubbish appropriately.
  8. Bring a personal sweat towel and your own drinking water.
  9. Bring your own Tennis equipment.
  10. Maintain social distancing during the game and when retrieving balls from other courts.
  11. Play responsibly in accordance with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) guidance appropriate to the relevant Covid tier level in your area.
  12. Flood lighting is available at additional cost.

General Activity Rules

  1. Physical activity or exercise is undertaken at your own risk. If you have any concerns about your health or suitability for your chosen activity you should seek guidance from a Doctor or relevant health professional before participating.
  2. Do not come to the Centre or Venue if you are unwell, have any Covid symptoms or have been told to self-isolate.
  3. Bookings are valid for the named person only, non-transferable and non-refundable once the purchasing process is complete.
  4. Arrive at your booked time, not early or late otherwise entry may be refused.
  5. Always register your attendance by scanning your membership card at reception.
  6. Listen to our staff at all times and follow their instructions.
  7. Follow one way systems and Covid Secure notices and signage staying within marked zones or areas.
  8. Respect social distancing at all times - Keep 2 metres distance between you and other people wherever possible.
  9. Lockers may not be available.
  10. There is no equipment available to borrow.
  11. Bring your own drinking water.
  12. Wear a face covering when entering and leaving the building and transitioning to and from your activity.
  13. Whilst taking part in an activity you are not required to wear a face mask.
  14. Wear a face covering at all times if you are not taking part in an activity and remaining in the centre.
  15. Those who are not wearing a face covering without an exemption may be refused entry.
  16. We will pass on your contact details to the NHS ‘Test and Trace’ service if requested to do so.

Membership

  1. You must produce valid proof of Membership on each occasion that You visit Matchpoint Lifeline. You will be required to present this for validation on arrival. If you do not present relevant proof You may be refused Membership benefits on that occasion.
  2. Your Membership will not be valid until and unless You have had Your photograph recorded on our systems; this is to prevent fraud, misuse and abuse of Membership benefits.
  3. Your Membership is non-transferable. You must not allow anyone else to use Your Card/fob or number. If You allow Your card/fob to be used by any other person, Your Membership will be suspended pending an enquiry without refund of any Fees or Activation and/or Joining Fees.
  4. Should You lose Your proof of membership, please inform Matchpoint Lifeline. We will issue You with a replacement for which You will incur a small replacement charge of £5.00, this also applies to loss of locker keys.

Monthly Prepaid Membership (monthly direct debit payment).

1. Where You join as a Monthly Prepaid Member You must pay by DD. You will be notified of the DD collection date at the time of joining.

2. Monthly DD are a full binding contract between Us and You and will automatically continue until You notify Us otherwise in writing.

3. Failure to make any due payment will initially result in the Membership being suspended and admission will be denied until all outstanding payments have been made. We retain the right to recover all outstanding balances including Activity Fees.

4. All Membership prices are reviewed from time to time and at least once per calendar year. If Your Fees are paid by DD and are due to be changed, We will notify You at least 10 working days in advance by email and/or by letter.

When joining online, you made the following statement concerning your health:

1. I wish to embark on a programme of physical activity and confirm that I do not have any health conditions which may prevent or adversely affect my participation in the exercise programme and/or induction. If my health status changes, I will seek guidance and clearance to exercise from my General Practitioner or other relevant heath professional before participating any further in the physical activity.

  1. You are not permitted to enter the facilities or partake in activities when under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
  2. You are not permitted to bring any animals into any facility with the exception of assistance dogs. If You know You require the use of a guide dog when applying for Membership or during Your Membership term, please inform Us at that time.
  3. You are permitted to use photographic and recording devices on a ‘one-off’ or casual basis whilst using our premises. Use of such devices must be deemed appropriate which is at the discretion of the Management. You are not permitted to use photographic or recording devices at any time in changing areas.
  4. You are not permitted to smoke, vape or use e-cigarettes anywhere on the premises or in the immediate vicinity.

Contracted Annual & Monthly Pre Paid Members

  1. As a prepaid Member, You may make single activity online bookings via the Arbox App 14 days in advance from midnight.

Pay and Play/Non Members

  1. As a Pay & Play/Non Member, You may make single activity online bookings via the Arbox App 7 days in advance from midnight.

The following BOOKING CANCELLATION TERMS apply to all bookings:

  1. To cancel a booking We recommend that you cancel Your booking via the Arbox App or in person.
  2. Any Late Cancellation and No Show of three time per week will be noted on Your Membership record and Your ability to use Our facilities or make further bookings will be suspended for 7 days.

Membership Cancellation

Cancellations – Annual Members and 1,3,6 Monthly Membership

  1. If you do not renew Your Annual Membership before it expires, it will automatically terminate at the end of the term and a re-joining fee may be payable if you wish to subsequently re-join.
  2. If you do not cancel your 1,3,6 Monthly Membership at least one month before it expires it will automatically transfer to a Monthly Prepaid Membership until you cancel by giving us one month’s notice.
  3. You may suspend an Annual Membership or Monthly Membership for a maximum of 6 months and a minimum of 1 month with proof of a medical document.
  4. You may ONLY cancel an Annual Membership or Monthly Membership during a Membership year if Exceptional Circumstances apply to You and by giving Us one month’s notice in writing to Matchpoint Lifeline setting out the Exceptional Circumstances and requesting to cancel Your Membership. We will then consider your request to cancel and if We are satisfied that Exceptional Circumstances apply to You we will process your cancellation. We may, acting reasonably, request evidence of your Exceptional Circumstances.
  5. Failure to pay the monthly fee for a Contracted Monthly Membership will be deemed to be a cancellation of Your membership and the cancellation terms will apply.
